Pure pleasure found in the heart of Geneva

Lunchtime I really fancied some salt and vinegar crisps, which are a rare commodity in this part of the world. Look what I found - crisps that come from my home town (well technically Roborough is outside of Plymouth but who cares)!!

Summer Bulletin

So its been a while..which you are probably used to by now. So its now clear that I am becoming a lazy Frenchman.

The problem is we went on holiday for a week and did so much that the prospect of updating the blog was too much to bear. This has now been done so please enjoy..it was hard work

So what’s news – those of you close to us would know by now we are expecting our first child in November, so maybe that could be another excuse for not touching the blog. Other than the hols, weekends have been spent with the usual frantic and somewhat baby focussed shopping trips crammed into a Saturday afternoon and lazy Sundays generally doing nothing. We did have a crazy weekend where we went for not one but two alpine walks (I’ll put some photos on of those too).

The weather has been nice, so much so that an attempt at growing tomatoes on the balcony has been a success. I have also dusted off the bike again and have been spending many an evening (well 3 or 4 so far) cruising around quiet flat open roads in the French/Swiss countryside near our home.
Its really nice, fields of wheat which have now been harvested and replaced by picture postcard hay bales, and miles and miles of golden yellow sunflowers, all dotted with rustic old buildings and the odd chateau (and also an enormous pile of horse manure in one farm which was bigger than the farm buildings itself- nice!). There are also some cool forests with plenty of trails and unfortunately, hungry horseflies (ouch...)

There has been one trip to Ruy, nothing exciting except yet more shopping on the Saturday and some enforced labour (decorating). I guess it pays the rent..

So what’s coming up? On 1 August the Aussie arrives (Neil) for a few days so there will be plenty of outings I guess. I am sure he will do the trip justice on his superior and more up to date blog. Beyond that I guess its make the most of our (relative) freedom and enjoy the end of summer before the additional member of our family arrives and no doubt takes over.
